The Best Investment in Northern Virginia: Home Remodeling

Arlington homes hold their value because of where they sit. A carefully planned home remodel in Arlington, VA, protects that position and pays you back while you live there.

Stronger resale value: Kitchens and bathrooms recover more of what you invest than any other room, and buyers here compare finishes closely.
More usable space: Lots in Arlington are tight, so finishing a basement or pushing out the back is often the only way to grow.
Lower running costs: New insulation, windows, and fixtures cut what you spend heating an older house.
A layout that fits your life: An open kitchen, a real mudroom, a first-floor bath for aging parents.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Leo and his team saved the day. I was in the middle of refurbishing my deck. When I noticed that the post and beam were swaying when I pushed on them. I called Leo and he came out the same day to take a look. He even suggested that I might as well do the ledger board while I had it apart. He sent me a quote later on that night. I agreed to have the work done and he put me on the schedule only a few days later. Leo and his crew came as promised and on time. They did an incredible (one day) job. Thanks to them I was able to continue and eventually finish my deck. I would recommend Leo and his team and will reach out to him with any future projects.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I hired Leo and his team to finish my basement last year and was happy with the results and so I worked with him again on a bathroom renovation in July of 2025.

Leo provides fair pricing, communicates promptly, and he worked with me on a very specific vision for the renovation (I am very detail oriented). His crew shows up when he says they will, and Leo routinely checks on his jobs to ensure his team is executing correctly. Leo also works with you to correct any issues that might arise. I recommend working with him.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. LG Contracting did an outstanding job on our project. Leo had some great ideas that really helped with the bathroom design. Leo and his crew showcased impeccable craftsmanship and went above and beyond what we asked for. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them for future projects.
It was completed on time and within budget. Kudos to his whole team for their hard work. I would highly recommend them for your next project.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Leo and his team did a great job on several projects, paying attention to detail. They did a kitchen refresh that turned out really nice. The basement finish turned out great. They also did good work correcting electrical connections the former owner jumbled. Additionally, the team addressed smaller projects with the same meticulousness and attention to detail.

We appreciated the meticulous work, transparency with pricing, flexibility in scheduling & availability, professionalism, and Leo's availability. Leo was helpful in answering questions, explaining things, and was personable and friendly. The entire team was great overall. We're very happy with the outcome.

If you're new to hiring contractors, here's some advice based on what I've learned: ask for a project plan with estimated dates for each activity; make sure you pre-plan as much as possible, paying attention to what you need and may need; things may need to be moved around so make as much space as possible.

Leo will definitely be considered for future projects.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome of our kitchen renovation! From start to finish, Leo and his team were professional, efficient, and incredibly detail-oriented.. The communication was excellent throughout the entire process. Leo provided recommendations when necessary. The results exceeded our expectations. In addition, the project was completed on time and their price is competitive! We spoke with 3 other local services and LG General Contracting had the best price!

Our kitchen is now not only beautiful but also highly functional. Our garbage disposal had a leak causing the floor board to cave in and Leo fixed the floor board and replaced the disposal. It’s truly the heart of our home, and we have this amazing team to thank for it. Highly recommend to anyone looking for quality renovation work!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Leo and his team are absolutely fantastic to work with! Let me start this by saying I'm pretty picky when it comes to contractors and the work they do, and I have been thoroughly impressed with Leo and his team and their work! His team was always punctual and respectful and they are the cleaned construction crew I have worked with, which was very much appreciated. They did not cut corners anywhere and everything works exactly as promised. They were also great with their help on design ideas like how to lay the tile, what color grout to go with, etc. They even went above and beyond and offered to paint our front door, which was a very nice added touch. I have absolutely nothing but positive things to say and have recommended them to all of our local family and friends if they need anyone!

Top tier work at excellent prices with a fantastic crew and an extremely responsive owner in Leo. They will get all of our renovation business for our house going forward! Thanks so much LG Contracting for the awesome new kitchen!!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Leo and his team are hard workers. We hired them to finish our basement and they did a great job!! They were consistent in completing what needed to be done and there was communication all along the way. Leo accommodated changes that popped up in the process professionally while also making sure things that had to be done, were done. I saw the quality that Leo and his team put into their work and appreciated that. They were patient while I worked with getting all the permits and continued their work as if no delays had happened. Thanks for the awesome basement my family can enjoy spending time in now!!

Verified Late Aug or Sep 2025, I contacted Leo to install a door at the bottom of my basement stairs. He responded promptly, scheduled an appt and then had the door custom made and once it arrived in Oct, it was installed! He maintained great communication and did a great job!

Verified We recently hired LG Home Improvement LLC to remodel two of our bathrooms, and we are very happy with the results. Leo brought fantastic design ideas to the table at our initial consult. He was incredibly resourceful in helping us maximize the small floor plan of our bathroom, ensuring the layout was both beautiful and highly functional. Additionally, he found ways to improve the bathrooms as the project was underway. With his guidance, we also selected both a stunning custom cabinet and a beautiful custom glass shower door that elevated the space.

Leo's team worked extremely hard to bring everything together and finish the project efficiently. If you are looking for a hardworking team and a great value, then I highly recommend LG Home Improvement LLC. Leo and his team exceeded our expectations.

Verified Hiring this contractor the second time, unfortunately, was not a pleasant experience as the first time. The project was for an entire bath renovation. He couldn't seem to figure out the correct size for the pull out shower door. Ordered and returned 3 times! Blaming me after the third try for ordering the incorrect size when I just relied on the measurements he provided! He wanted to order another shower door again but it seemed ridiculous at that point. I ended up hiring someone else and costing me more money to finish the project.

Verified I reached out to Leo based on his amazing Yelp reviews. We needed help putting our house together after discovering mold in our kitchen and basement areas. He arrived on time to our first appointment and listened to every part of the project. Leo then provided an accurate and easy to understand quote by his deadline.

When the work began his crew arrived on time and Leo was there to introduce me to his team. He walked through and confirmed details with the onsite project manager.

During the week, the project went really smooth. His project manager would let me know the progress of the project each day. They were open to our questions and adjustments. They also offered their opinions on where we should place or move lights, which paint to use, etc.

Not only did Leo and his team finish the job on time, they did an excellent job. It is so nice to have our home feel like a home again!

Verified We hired LG General Contracting for a home renovation project to create a spa room with a large, jetted tub and air bath. Leo arranged all the plumbing, electrical, construction, flooring, and painting. He also provided suggestions on home improvement supplies stores which had the best selection and prices to keep the project on budget. His estimate of the quantity of materials and schedule was very accurate.

We were so satisfied with how the project worked out that we hired LG General Contracting for additional work to build custom oak shelves to match the flooring.

The price was reasonable, especially when they put in little extras, such as picking up/returning supplies. In the end, the spa room turned out beautiful, and we enjoyed having relaxing stay-cations in our own house. We will hire them again for future projects. Thank you all for your hard work and skill!

Very professional and were able to avoid damaging the lawn, which was appreciated. The price was very reasonable for the scope of work. Will definitely use them again for future projects.

Verified Leo has been our go to person for all our projects around the house since 2022. He is trustworthy. He provides his honest opinion. His pricing is competitive and delivers quality workmanship. He is not pushy at all. The team always clean up before they leave for the night.
We had our deck updated, electrical work done, new floors, bathroom remodeled, painting around the house, and they even fixed our main water line when it leaked. That was a major project, and we are satisfied with their work. I highly recommend Leo and his team for your next project.

Verified Wow wow!! I can't say enough fantastic things about Leo! He was referred to me by a new acquaintance who raved about him and I can see why! He did my stair banisters and railings and paint. He was so responsive, reliable, trust worthy, and beyond kind. I trusted his vision for how to make unmatching woods match and he NAILED IT. I left everything up to him and he knew exactly what I needed. I couldn't recommend him more highly!!!

Frequently Asked Questions



How Long Does a Home Remodeling Project Take?

It depends. Most single-room jobs run four to eight weeks once demolition starts. Kitchens and basements take longer than bathrooms, and additions can stretch over several months due to permitting and framing. We hand you a schedule before the first wall comes down and update you weekly, so your Arlington project keeps moving.



What Home Renovations Add the Most Value?

Kitchens and bathrooms top the list, because buyers judge a property on those two rooms first. Finished basements and added bedrooms follow in Arlington, where square footage is scarce. Curb-appeal work like siding, roofing, and a new front entry also returns a strong share of its cost.



Is It Cheaper to Remodel or Build a New Home?

Remodeling almost always costs less than starting over. Building a custom home involves land, demolition, new utilities, and a long approval timeline, whereas a remodel reuses the foundation, framing, and existing services. Rebuilding makes sense only when the structure is failing or the footprint has to change.



What Should I Include in My Budget Before Starting a Full Home Renovation?

Plan for design and permits, materials, labor, and a contingency for surprises behind old walls. Older Arlington homes often reveal knob-and-tube wiring, galvanized pipe, or asbestos tile once demolition starts. Budget for temporary living costs if the renovation process shuts down your kitchen or only bathroom.



Can One Remodeling Contractor Handle Kitchens, Bathrooms, Basements, and Home Additions?

Yes, and one team saves you time and hassle. As full-service home remodeling contractors in Arlington, VA, we keep the plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and finish trades in-house. A single remodeling firm managing the whole build process means one schedule, one budget, and one point of accountability.
